How to Add a Pandora Music Bot on Your Discord Server and More!
Are you new to Discord and started running your own server or have been running one? If you're using voice chat, there are down times when no one is talking and it can get boring so why not add some music for you and others to enjoy!
Where to Start
Visit https://bots.discord.pw/.
Here, you can find a range of different bots to utilize in your Discord server. We will go over a couple music bots you might want to try out.
Step 1.
- Enter "pandora" in the search bar and hit search.
From here, you will see a few options for this bot. You can view a description of the bot, visit their website, and invite this bot to your server.
Step 2.
- Click "Invite"
Make sure you are logged into your Discord account on your web browser. You will be brought to a page to view permissions the bot needs. You also need to have administrative rights for the server you are adding the bot to.
Step 3.
Select which server you would like to add the bot to (Administrative rights required).
Then select "Authorize"
You will notice the Pandora bot added to your server in the list of users. From here you can start using the bot.
Step 4.
Type P!play
in the text chat to start the Pandora music bot.
When you want to stop the music, just typeP!stop
.
If you want to see the list of commands, type P!help
and you will get a direct message from the bot that will show you the list of commands or just visit: https://bots.discord.pw/bots/255933783293820928
Now there is one drawback of using the Pandora music bot. Since you are not able to set who can control the bot, anyone on your server can use the commands to control the bot. If you have a server where only mods and the admin are allowed to type, then regular users won't have the ability to use the commands. There is an alternative bot you could use called the Dyno bot.
Dyno Bot
The Dyno bot is capable of setting only mods and admin to be able to use the commands and have complete control of the bot.
Just follow the same steps above with the Pandora music bot and just search for "Dyno". When you have the bot in the server, head over to: https://www.dynobot.net/.
Step 7.
- Login to your Discord account if you already aren't.
Step 8.
- Select which server you would like to add the bot to (Administrative rights required).
Step 9.
- Go through the options and setup your Dyno bot. In the "Music" option on the left, you can find the setting to only allow mods/dj to have control of the bot. You may need to create roles if you already haven't in the server settings on Discord.
Dyno pulls music from YouTube and you will need to create a queue list.
Step 10.
Go back to Discord and in the text chat, type ?play ARTIST - SONGTITLE
to add the song to your queue list and to start playing the music. Each song you try to play, it will be added to your queue list.
To stop, type ?stop
. Youcan see your queue list by typing ?queue list
. Anytime you want to start playing your music again, just type ?play
.
