What is a film "treatment"?

basically a film treatment is the summary of the story being told

I wrote this screenplay a few years back and is one of many projects I've developed into a story over the years. I decided to share this "treatment" with you so you know the direction I'm headed in my career as an actor and filmmaker.

This is an original story created by me using bits and pieces of myself to create a character who is completely out of place in his surroundings. Before you dig into this story... think Will Ferrel and a little bit of Talladega Nights

Juanito The Legend (working title) - a drunken comedy by WALLACE CARRANZA

Logline:/(elevator pitch) - A head injury forces a legendary boxer to develop a drunk fighting style on his journey to be the greatest of all time

Juanito, professional fighter posing as a Mexican legend trains for a title shot when he suffers a massive brain injury triggering a disorder, aphasia/bilingualism which blocks his ability to communicate in english and unlocks his unbeknownst ability to speak spanish.

At the hands of his shady fight promoter, he is mistaken for a dying patient and deported back to Mexico and taken care of by a hot NURSE and her brother, a former pro boxing phenom. The brother realizes who the fighter is and decides to help him recover and return to the top. A Transformation begins and Juanito accepts the fact, he hit rock bottom but along his path to redemption, adopts the culture and support of the country he fraudulently claimed to be from. He sets out on a mission to fight his way back to the top and reclaim his spot for a title match. He learns new mechanics and technique from the brother and becomes even greater than before, that is until...
Along with a series of misfortunes, his head trauma begins to heal and his spanish speaking ability is fading fast along with the new techniques and mechanics he learned but his english and old ways are returning. His new fight team consisting of the nurse he's falling in love with, her brother the trainer and their clumsy alcoholic cousin are unable to communicate with Juanito and discover his "legendary" story they believed to be true, was all a scam. The nurses brother confesses, the story Juanito used was actually, his own and despite of his anger towards Juanito, believes his abilities as a fighter are greater than his own. He convinces everyone to push forward and find a solution to the challenge at hand. Juanito, embarrassed and ashamed goes on a drinking binge and drunken rage where he realizes he is able to communicate in spanish and fight like the brother trained him but only if he's drunk.

They devise a new fight plan including shots of hard alcohol and water in between rounds in order to maintain a balance of his old and new self, when fighting in matches. His controversial game plan is a success but discovers he was reported dead from his initial accident. Sports headlines blow up with news of Juanito, "returning from the dead" and it is revealed that his now former and bitter wife and shady fight promoter took advantage of Juanito's freak accident so they wouldn't go completely broke.

Juanito finally gets his title match and finds himself struggling with the defending champ. Using the unorthodox methods, he holds his ground, taking shots of tequila in between rounds.. A strategy that unblocks his bilingual and new fighting ability. He wins back the support of the fans only to fall to an unexpected knock out punch by the still undefeated champion. The crowd is silent and in disbelief... and the broadcaster is heard, “biggest disappointment in fight history... what a complete waste of time”
