Auction Finds - Weird Results of Bulk Buying
When we attend auctions, we like to go for the joblots of goods, items sold by the table full, and deep boxes that look like they are full of "rubbish". Many items we sell online fall into the "let's just try this" realm, though to be fair there is some instinct involved! But in those boxes of rubbish is where we often find our treasures. These listings are some of the weird odds & ends from all those joblots.
Vintage handcuffs without keys - sold for R110 ($8).
It's used to do something with car engines. That is the full extent of my knowledge!
An odd little badge, probably bought from a museum shop.
Vintage matchboxes really don't sell anymore....but I tried anyway as I think these are kind of cool. But I'm failing!
These Shell tokens are still waiting for the right collector, but I have seen them sold before, so I'll wait a little longer.
Antique desk light clamp. Sold for R50 ($3,80)
Coleman spares always sell well. Somebody had taken it upon themselves to turn their vintage Coleman camping lamps into electric lights (SHUDDER). My husband dismantled them and I sold them as parts.
Modern collectibles. The mug sold for R25 ($1,90) and the customer paid an additional R110 ($8,30) priority postage.
A sweet little key. Not the key to my heart as I already sold it for R25. Did I just say that??? If the key fit the handcuffs I would handcuff myself and turn myself in to the corn police. Okay I'm going to stop now.
