On the weekend I took these photos as I was amazed by the variety of flowers and plants you can see in the veld (African grassland) before the grass grows long. All these flowers were literally within twenty steps of my property line.
You can still see the traces of the huge veld fire we had a few months ago. The ash enriches the ground and allows these beautiful flowers to bloom. It was very pleasant to take the photos in the bright morning sun, and every time I took a photo, I saw something else to photograph!
