[Fitness Advice] - Fitness & The Choices We Make

As a coach it is easy to tell my clients what to do and how to do it however I choose to lead by example as often as I can.

Actions are stronger than words.

Action is what promotes change and your body and state of mind is always a reflection of your lifestyle.

So what lifestyle are you leading and does it align with your health?

There is so much misinformation out there about nutrition and movement and I feel it is time that we got real about what health actually means.

To me health means sustainability and longevity.

Health is about living a stress free and happy life do what you need to do for YOU.

You also must be able to repeat the behaviour that is going to support this lifestyle.

Anything that puts you under stress or is unsustainable is NOT healthy.

Physical and emotional stress is a silent killer.

This can come about from your food choices, your thinking and your movement.

These stresses and decisions are dictated by your behavioural patterns on a day to day basis so the key is to self assess and work out what you need to adjust.

There is too much emphasis on a high intensity attitude in all that we do as that is what brings success.

I disagree, Intent and consistency is what brings success.

Our lives are busy enough as it is so it is important that we ensure what we do aligns with where we want to go and what we want to be.

Take a step back and self analyse.

It will be worth it.

Training does not need to be wham bam all the time.

Your nutrient dense eating program does not have to be full of massive changes and does not need to include lavish new recipes every night.

This can cause anxiety and stress and if it means you are creating more work for yourself then you may want to address it and look at alternative measures.

I prefer a simplified action plan that allows me more time to do what I want in life.

I also only eat Electric and Alkaline food choices.

The key for me is food preparation and I spend one day a week, usually a Sunday, going to the farmers markets and preparing 80% of all my meals for the week in advance.

I still make breakfast however I have everything else prepared.

I eat this everyday and then treat myself when required out at a restaurant or on the weekend however 90% of the time I am eating this food - EVERYDAY.

Breakfast - Oats with teff, chia seeds, blueberries, cinnamon and honey.
MidMorning - Red, yellow and green capsicum, cucumber, snap peas and feta
Lunch - Mushrooms, 80g chicken, broccolini, quinoa, and zucchini
Dinner - 80g chicken, kale, spinach, amaranth, snap peas and zuccinni

I also cut all my dinner vegetables up in advance for the week and just add chicken to a wok and BOOM!

Cooked and done in 10 minutes or less.

Preparation is king!

The act of using containers works for me and stops me from temptation, fuels my body with electric foods and ensure I have all the right things through the week, more often than not.

It is not about being perfect, it is about being more diligent more often.

All your dark greens contain GSH which is one of the most important elements of your diet and I recommend everyone starts to learn more about Glutathione and how it affects us biologically.

The aim of these blogs is to give you some insight to different perspectives that hopefully inspire you to do things differently and in order for you to unlock your potential.

Health and fitness is a choice and it is liberating.
