The lab is looking at methods of using decentralized blockchain technology to ensure that biometric data becomes much more secure than previously thought possible. And this is done by dividing users biometric data into smaller pieces. Each piece is then encrypted individually, before being kept/stored on a separate blockchain.

THE OPTHERIUM ECOSYSTEM

The Ecosystem provides a range of private blockchain networks which allow instant on-chain and cross-chain transactions at more than 100,000 transactions per second and peer-to-peer roles and permissions which is meant to protect sensitive information. Optherium achieves this success by using blockchain channels in a unique way. Each of these blockchain channel consists of five nodes and is capable of reaching approximately 3,500 transactions per second. Optherium combines many of these channels to form a platform layer, and uses many layers to develop multi-decentralization and extreme security.

The Optherium Ecosystem tries to solve these three problems in today’s blockchain industry:

THE OPEX TOKEN

The OPEX token is a multi-function token that is created to be used on the Optherium platform. the token sale for Optherium began on 5th, Oct. 2018 which is when you can first possibly contribute and get OPEX, the main role is to serve as a utility token within the Optherium Ecosystem, eWallet services, B2C and B2B platforms, and the Multi-Decentralized Digital Currency Exchange. OPEX will act as an internal reserve token for liquidity to achieve the last of these functions, pairing with as much as 150 different digital currencies.
