Cardstack decentralized card system – Analytical review

лого.png

The project’s background info

Cardstack presents itself as a special digital ecosystem which will make traditional and decentralized apps (dApps) work in accordance. It will provide the end-users (regular people and businesses) with maximum ease and comfort and also app-makers with lucrative rewards.
That integration – according to the startup’s vision – can be done through eliminating the so-called application silos and creating a card system which will eventually be the only medium between people and the numerous apps and services they utilize every day. Consequently it will challenge such tycoons as Google Play, Appstore, Facebook etc.

At the moment Cardstack is fully finished. According to the official info it took 3 years to do all the necessary researches and have the project technically finalized. The exact budget is undisclosed but is estimated as “millions of dollars”.

The core of the project and technical realization

Cardstack’s sole intention is to:

  • Set regular app users free from the need of overpaying for numerous applications that have overlapping functions.
  • Give the end-users a universal, easy-to-use and intuitive interface that will allow quick and time-saving app management.

To achieve this purpose Cardstack employs the following strategies:

  • Cohesive User Experience - merging of blockchain and cloud platforms.
  • Removal of technical silos – elimination of barriers that separate apps designed on different platforms.
  • Creation of a limitless digital world – end-users will be able to mingle features they love from different apps.
  • Internet workflow decentralization – various online services can be joined, managed etc. in a couple of clicks.
  • Card composability – all the information units will be stored in compact cards that can be shared, integrated, tied to each other, copied, accepted, rejected, saved etc.
  • SDK release – Cardstack will release free-to-use tools that allow designing blockchain-powered apps, operational in Cardstack’s ecosystem.
  • New mining model – CARD can be mined by users through analytical input only, meaning they’ll have to filter spam info in the system and evaluate the rewarding system.
  • New reward model – Cardstack is a sort of digital market place where a system of smart contracts prevails. A special algorithm gives the app-makers a token award based on anonymous data usage analysis.
The last strategy must exclude the probability of overpaying.

Conclusion

In all honesty Cardstack offers a product that already exists – all the multiple apps and services that people utilize everyday are stored in their gadgets, laptops and PCs.
As for the option that allows users TO choose only those features they want – it’s been in practice for quite a while in the Freemium/Premium models.
People do pay but only if they really need extra app-features. And the services that allow managing online subscriptions in one click were introduced a while ago – Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay, Steam etc.
The only way for Cardstack to become a success is by getting bought by one of the tycoons that it dreams of challenging. Unfortunately it is unlikely since they have had their own similar services successfully put in use for quite a time.
