The Hasan Tower, Rabat

Google tells me this building was begun in 1195. It's very impressive and recordings of screaming hawks echo out across the large plaza between it and the rotal mausoleum to frighten away the pigeons.

And here is the view from the foot of the tower. Robin Crusoe escaped from slavery from here. I don't remember that part in the countless TV adaptions, but it's in the book.
