simplyBrand - Making Digital Commerce Trustworthy Through Blockchain, AI, and You

ICO market is nowadays pretty similar to the Wild West during the gold rush period. It is possible to earn money very quickly, sometimes even good money, but you have to find a perfect spot, or in this case, a good project to invest. Common thing to the Wild West? No guaranties and almost no law. It is pretty easy to find bad cowboys which are going to promise you golden mountains to steal your last piece of bread. So in all this mess, if you want to find your gold nugget, you can trust just your own brain composites.

After my research, I found this project in which I really put my faith: simplyBrand. Very likely you haven’t heard about them, project is made by great team members. Nevertheless, guys have an advantage, many other teams does not: already existing product made on a very perspective field. But these are not all pluses I found in this project. Below you can read the analysis and decide on your own, do you want to send some pennies to the pot.

simplyBrand will establish a platform with built-in AI model and machine learning technology to identify counterfeits. Crowd-sourced participants will be incentivized to assist in verifying the unidentifiable items throughout the whole process. The information of the counterfeiters will then be published on the blockchain, which is immutable and totally public for everybody to read. In addition, two major functions will be released along the way and will result in more parties joining the platform to complete the goal of evolving the platform into a self-governed ecosystem. By combining these cutting-edge technologies, and also designing mechanisms to govern the platform by itself, the solution would be able to solve this problem at a larger scale and high effectiveness.

simplyBrand was built to create a new world for digital commerce where in brands and consumers are protected from the damaging and lethal effects of counterfeit goods. A world where consumers can purchase goods globally with out fear of receiving a low quality or harmful product; where brands are able to regain their rightful market shares and no longer have to worry about being tarnished by counterfeit products which have made their way into the hands of loyal consumers. simplyBrand is creating a world of safe and trustworthy digital commerce free from the harm caused by the counterfeiting industry.

simplyBrand and Blockchain Technology

Leveraging the immutable and distributed features of blockchain technology, simplyBrand will publish the blacklist on the blockchain and effectively reduce the actions of counterfeit retailers by increasing their cost of business and creating new barriers to their continued operations. simplyBrand is fighting counterfeit by involving every actors of the market (customers, brands, manufacturers, and all interested people in general). The reasons why this needs to be made through a blockchain are multiple. There are two that are really important:

The security and the trust that blockchain grants to all the actors of the project (the customers who verify the products, the brands which participate in the process, the ever growing database that results of this operations). In order to verify and be sure to keep a footprint of every report on counterfeiting, the use of blocks is a must!

Connecting people is something important to create an accurate counterfeiting blacklist, but the problem comes to be: “How to use this list efficiently ? How can we transform reports/votes/lists into a threatening tool for counterfeiters ?” SimplyBrand had the smart idea to publish its blacklist on a blockchain. This will effectively reduce the ability of counterfeiters by increasing their cost and creating new obstacles to their business. Then, in a sense, the market itself will be their own nightmare.

The simplyBrand platform will combine AI, human ingenuity and blockchain technology which will be used to create an immutable “blacklist” of counterfeit product.

PROCESSES INVOLVED IN THE ECOSYSTEM

Process Flow 1 - Identification

E-commerce platforms will be scanned constantly for product data to create an ever-expanding database with millions of product profiles.

Process Flow 2 - Verification

The data will be analyzed using AI, Natural Language Processing, semantic analysis, image recognition technology and Human layer to verify whether a given product is genuine or counterfeit.

Process Flow 3 - Enforcement

After a product is determined to be a counterfeit, Third-party will be able to access the product information, remove offending product pages and report the status of their work to the platform and claim their rewards.

The simplyBrand ecosystem helps brands to measure the possible loss of revenue on online marketplaces. The system will work to provide transparency within e-commerce to allow brands to further their understanding of the extent of counterfeiting and how to end the problem.

TEAM MEMBERS AND ADVISORY MEMBERS TO THE PROJECT

Team seems to be the strongest part of this project. It consists of innovative and talented people. Of course I cannot complain if we talk about their professional level, guys indeed are experts on their field.

One of Simply-Brand’s instruments used in its resolution framework is the Staking Mechanism, which allows parties the “right of apply” on the proposal, which translates to the capability to contribute to activities and get detail on the platform. Staking also makes sure that offensive measures alongside the platform are evaded. The simplyBrand platform will combine AI, human ingenuity and blockchain technology which will be used to create an immutable “blacklist” of counterfeit product. Human Layer will directly report counterfeit products, or work with the AI to verify the authenticity of E-commerce products.
