Seablue Journal:Plumbers, insurance and the Bible.
I've arrived at work after a day of having plumbers and insurance people coming in and out the door.
We recently discovered we had 3-4 inches of water under our house while inspecting the crawl space. Since then it has been a non-stop merry-go-round of tradesmen and insurance adjustors. This has meant that I have been stuck in the house with few options to get out.
Tonight though, I'm back at work. I setup my laptop and open my browser and then stared, wondering which website to visit. I was pretty tired of markets after a week of 1broker.com and Poloniex, so I went for YouTube. It is my favorite place to go to for video entertainment.
I'm glad I did! Who should I find but the latest lecture from Jordan Peterson freshly uploaded today!
On this Friday night, I'm on the overnight shift, looking after sleeping clients, so a 2h 18 min lecture on psychology is a great way to pass the time productively.
Edit
One of the most interesting statements made in this lecture was this question. What are the qualities of the inhabitant of the top of the dominance hierarchy?
Speech, vision and the ability to confront the unknown. These are the qualities of leaders we look towards. The archetype comes from images such as the god Marduk, who had eyes all around his head, and spoke magic words, and battled with chaos. These archetypal representations are at the heart of how we perceive those who lead and transcend the ordinary.
