Following the blog tutorial #Part1
Two days ago I made a huge blogging tutorial and today I will see how well my own blog corresponds to all those instructions.
Please share your own experience and how you solve certain issues.
I mention that there are three sets of rules to follow, and the whole tutorial will take about 20 days to complete. If you done most of the things, like me, it will go much faster.
The point is that a blog starts to show the signs of change, more traffic and so on.
So, let's see what I done and what I missed to do. Or what I am doing different and why.
Things we have to think about:
✅ RULE #1: ESTABLISH A NICHE
I have three blogs in total: fiction ( Silent Water), poetry ( Lyrics) and internet ( Github blog).
I might change this and place everything in my Github with dedicated pages to my creative work.
🔶 RULE #2: CREATE VALUABLE CONTENT
🔶 RULE #3: BLOG CONSISTENTLY
🔶 RULE #8: CREATE AMAZING GRAPHICS
✅ RULE #10: OFFER SOME VARIETY
I think I have some valuable content, but I agree that many pieces of my writing are not meant to be there, or they are not split under right categories.
Regular writing on topic is also a problem, but I think I can overcome it with a proper planning.
Creating graphics will require work, as well as writing.
✅ RULE #4: BUILD A SOLID SOCIAL MEDIA PRESENCE
✅ RULE #5: NURTURE YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH READERS
✅ RULE #6: NETWORK WITH OTHER BLOGGERS
🔴 RULE #7: BUILD AN EMAIL LIST
✅ RULE #9: KEEP LEARNING
I think this is an understatement, I am lit everywhere. Not a problem at all.
Things we have to avoid :
✅ MISTAKE #1: NOT CHOOSING A NICHE
I have three - internet, fiction, poetry
🔶 MISTAKE #2: NEGLECTING YOUR “ABOUT PAGE”
I think I should make one, because essentially i have a portfolio introduction post made for almost every crypto blogging website I am in, so that would be enough.
🔶 MISTAKE #3: BLOGGING SPORADICALLY

✅ MISTAKE #4: IGNORING YOUR COMPETITION
I do read things on regular basis, so there is no ignoring from my side, more like skipping because I had no time or didn't get al the info in time. For that purpose I used some bots in my Discord server and created a huge info center from one of the channels.
✅ MISTAKE #5: DISABLING COMMENTS
Checked! I have commenting script installed, but I am not sure if that one is the best.
🔶 MISTAKE #6: NOT UNDERSTANDING KEYWORDS
I understand them pretty well, but even with the spotless SEO it is hard to tell if a blog will be successful, I will definitely make adjustments to it.
✅ MISTAKE #7: BEING SALESY
Not really.
🔶 MISTAKE #8: NOT PROMOTING YOUR CONTENT
🔶 MISTAKE #9: HAVING POOR-QUALITY IMAGES
🔶 MISTAKE #10: PRODUCING LOW-QUALITY CONTENT
I think I am moderate in all of this, but I can press harder.

All my blogging platforms are free plus I participate in a paid crypto blogging websites.
I make my own templates. In the past I used to like fixed design now I am going more towards the flexible templates, as many people use mobile phones.
I have enough content so far to fill up my blog, plus Canva and Pixabay can satisfy graphic part of the job.
I do not have a need for a domain based email account, because I had one in the past, now I am just using Protonmail.
For an auto-schedulle I use Tweetdecck, BufferI, IFTTT sporadically and Zapier.
For advertising I use Adsense ( I have some others too, Pubovore, Clicksore, Popcash, Chitika or a-ads.).

🔶 SET UP GOOGLE ANALYTICS ( or Statcounter)
🔶 SET UP GOOGLE SEARCH CONSOLE

Most of these things I done before so this part is going to be fast ( extra pages, analytics, search console, email newsletter), and on the rest I will have to work.
🔷 WRITE WITH SEO IN MIND
🔷 POLISH YOUR POSTS ( interlink, no-follow links, metadata, keywords, alt, custom permalinks)
🔷 START REVIEWING PRODUCTS ON YOUR BLOG
🔷 POST DAILY, SET UP A POSTING SCHEDULE AND STICK TO IT AND UPDATE OLD POSTS PERIODICALLY
This will definitely take the most of my time.

I have to see where my blog post have the best reception, I chose a few webs that will definitely resonate with my content much better than any facebook group.

For this I can simply make a spreadsheet and keep updating it about the changes.
