The web hosting industry is constantly shifting with technologies and the ability to acquire new customers, as well as the ability to keep existing clients comes increasingly to the fore. Indeed, SOHO (Small Offices Home Offices) hosting companies, which propose more affordable services, are reversing the traditional economic hierarchy and are more and more in position to impose their conditions and drive prices downs for Virtual Servers or Dedicated Servers.
These servers are easy to create and respond market needs, especially for new websites with a small budget, like blogs or information sites.
Why accepting bitcoin payments can make a difference?
To answer this question, we have performed a short interview with some clients, especially VDS.PLUS, a hosting service provider that accept bitcoin payments. Here, the three questions of the interview. Don’t hesitate to share your experience with crypto on comments, it’s always profitable for everyone.
What is the impact on their sales?
Their experience shows an effect on sales, a boost undoubtedly but not a massive influx of customers. But the most interesting things in this is not the number of new customers but the kind of clients. They all said that these new customers are pretty homogenous and live with crypto as means of payments. They are not speculating. They use bitcoins like others use dollars and are not accessible if you are accepting only fiat money. This does however not mean that these websites are illegal. This means that they believe in another world, another way to makes business differently.
What effects on the store’s image and reputation?
The answers here following the same logic. Accepting bitcoin payment is clearly a way to attract not only new customers but a new market. By accepting crypto in general, you show your clients that new technologies do not represent a fear for you, but an opportunity to change or increase business. This is also a guarantee for everyone, that if tomorrow appears a new hosting service, more powerful, with a veritable added value, it will be included in your services without hesitation. They do not see in you a penny-pinching attitude.
The most positive side?
By asking this question, we expected a financial answer. But it’s not. For them, the most positive side is the help and support of the bitcoin community. Inside of it, they discovered new ideas, new visions on which they can increase their products and services and a way to monitor market trends. And it certainly the most neglected aspect of bitcoin. Its community, always ready to help. Occasionally utopian, sometimes alarmist, it still remains active and effective.
