A question about Golos' initial account replication from Steem
am in the early stages of developing a fork of Steem, in which a key goal is to address the many issues related to incentives being beneficial to bad actors.
The wiki can be found here, which is a work in progress, and summarises the changes that will be made to the consensus rules relating to voting power, reputation and the currency system. This does not include information about planned changes to the fork of Condenser, which we will be calling 'Shimmer'.
The reason for my posting here is that when Golos launched, it used a copy of the steem accounts (I am unsure of the details precisely, whether it also copied the forum), but for the reasons of easing adoption by existing Steem users, we want it to copy the account names, public keys, json_data profile information, but change all the accounts stake and reputation to the same as new accounts, with no liquid assets.
Indeed, if there is interest in doing this, the accounts from Golos could be merged into it as well, so Golos users can also join. I have not yet added this element to the wiki page yet, but we intend to integrate a full set of language translations in the interface, as well as automating the setting of user-defined preferences for language choice, and adding the language tag automatically by this, and adding a quick link that allows a user to filter all feeds with their language tag in combination with the other tags or trending/created/hot/promoted.
Promoting, of course, will be only by the base currency, as the pegged asset is going to be removed.
Anyone who knows where to ask or who can tell us about any code that was used to copy the user database out of Steem, if this was what was done, or if not, if it was just a copy of the chain, or whatever is the case, your assistance would be greatly appreciated.
