The eerie Seth MacFarlane coincidences - The list keeps growing
#1: Seth MacFarlane was an animator for Johnny Bravo.
On 4/27/01, Johnny Bravo displayed an image of a burning building with the words "Coming Soon" over it. Seth has no personal credits for this episode.
#2: Seth MacFarlane was scheduled to be on one of the flights that hit the World Trade Center.
He was booked to be on Flight 11, but his travel agent had told him an inaccurate time, and due to feeling hungover from a night of drinking, his life was saved.
#3: Virginia Tech Shooting - American Dad
The episode "Vacation Goo" was originally set to air on 04/29/07. There was a scene where Stan was wearing a "V TECH" shirt and was shouting "Hokies!" at the screen to root on Virginia Tech's football team. The shooting happened on 04/16/07, so the scene was reanimated and the whole episode was pushed back so fans wouldn't think they were making fun of the tragedy.
#4: Boston Marathon - Family Guy
On 03/17/13, the episode Turban Cowboy aired featuring Peter meeting a terrorist and subsequently becoming one. In one scene, Peter presses a button on a phone that his new friend gave him and an explosion, followed by screams are heard. Peter presses another button, and we hear a second explosion, followed by more screams.
Later in the episode, we see an eerie joke about Peter driving his car through marathon runners, leaving a trail of blood and dead bodies. It cuts to Peter describing how he won the Boston Marathon to a TV interviewer, revealing that he was committing mass murder at the Boston Marathon.
A month later, on 04/15/13, the Boston Marathon Bombing occurred, which included two blasts.
#5: Boston Marathon - American Dad
One day before the bombing, on 4/14/13, American Dad released an episode with the following dialogue:
Hailey: I gotta be honest with you Snot, I wasn't really looking forward to this night, but I had a blast.
Snot: Well, call the bomb squad! Cuz with the blast I had, that makes TWO blasts!! (visually shows 2 fingers) creepy laugh
#6: Death of Paul Walker - Family Guy
On 11/24/13, an episode was aired where Seth spontaneously killed off a very integral character, Brian, when he was hit by a car. On 11/30/13, the character of Brian from Fast of The Furious, Paul Walker, died in a car crash.
#7: Robin Williams suicide - Family Guy
On 05/20/12, an episode aired featuring Peter as a King Midas-like character, except everything he touches turns to Robin Williams. The fiasco becomes too much for Peter to handle, and he tries repeatedly to commit suicide, each attempt being stopped by Robin Williams. In one visual, we see Peter putting a gun to his head, but the gun turns into a Robin Williams.
On 08/11/14, while the news was being reported that Robin Williams had committed suicide, the BBC3 network happened to be playing this episode.
#8: The arrest of Jared Fogle - American Dad
Although law enforcement began investigating Jared in 2007, he wasn't arrested until 2015. On 12/11/11, "Season's Beatings" aired in which Stan is excommunicated from his church. Father Donovan tells Stan that Jared got back into the church after donating a large sum of money. Later in the episode, we see a list of ex-communicated people and Jared is on this list, with a stamp of "OK" over his name. In 2011, it wasn't clear to the public why Jared would have been excommunicated. His home was raided on 07/07/15.
#9: Bruce Jenner’s transition - Family Guy
In an episode from 2009, after Stewie is told that Bruce Jenner is a man, he replies with "No, Brian. That’s what the press would have you believe, but he’s not. Bruce Jenner is a woman. An elegant, beautiful Dutch woman." In another episode from 2011, Jenner is seen flamboyantly dancing in front of Navy men who are cheering him on as if he is a sexy woman.
In 2015, we got the news about Caitlyn Jenner.
#10: Dick Cheney hunting incident and death of Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia - Family Guy
02/12/06 Dick Cheney accidentally shot an attorney on a Texas ranch during a quail hunt.
02/13/16 Antonin Scalia died in his sleep at a Texas Ranch after going on a quail hunt.
05/20/07, Family Guy episode "Meet the Quagmires" has the Grim Reaper saying this line: "Dick Cheney, the chairman of Halliburton, shot Supreme Court Justice Scalia in a hunting accident"
#11: Kevin Spacey allegations - Family Guy
In 2005 an episode was aired where Stewie runs through a mall screaming that he needs help because he has escaped from Kevin Spacey’s basement. The allegations came out in 2017.
#12: Harvey Weinstein allegations - The 2013 Oscars
During a monologue before an award in 2013, Seth makes a joke about how the women nominated no longer have to pretend to be attracted to Harvey Weinstein. The allegations came forth in October 2017.
#13: Bret RatnerIn a 2012 episode, we see Stewie dressed as a girl showing off for bidders, apparently for sex trafficking. Brett Ratner bids $75k on Stewie. In November of 2017, six women came forward accusing him of sexual assault.
#14: Charlie Rose allegations - Family Guy
An episode aired on 5/8/16 which had Peter giving anchorman Tom Tucker bad advice that lost him his long-time job. Peter says "Poor Tom. Thanks to me, he's fallen even further than Charlie Rose." At the time, Charlie's career had no controversy. On 11/20/17, eight women come forward accusing him of sexual assault, costing him his job on his talk show that had been running for 26 years.
#15: Death of George H.W. Bush - Family Guy
George Herbert Walker Bush died on 11/30/18. Two days later on 12/2/18, The long-running character of Herbert, who uses a walker, is killed off. Despite it seeming like the end of Herbert, he popped up on a 3/24/19 episode, making the death episode stranger.
#16: Notre-Dame fire and New Zealand Shooting - Family Guy
On 3/24/19, "You Can't Handle the Booth", we see CHRIST terrorizing CHURCH-goers. The exterior shot shows the church burned down and we can see the name of the church: "Holy CHRIST CHURCH." The shooting in Christchurch happened on 3/15/19, and the fire at Notre-Dame happened on 4/15/19. Family Guy did not air a new episode on its regularly scheduled slot on 3/17/19, despite Bob's Burgers and Simpsons both airing a new episode on that day. It's likely Fox delayed the episode because of these images.
#17: The Coronavirus pandemic - Family Guy
On 11/13/16, "Hot Shots", an episode all about vaccinations. Lois starts off as an anti-vaxxer but then by the end she learns that she must vaccinate Stewie. It begins with a bat who infects Stewie, the town is quarantined with kids not going to school. The second scene shows a toy helicopter crash, similar to how Kobe died (The death of Kobe Bryant being a signal to the plandemic. Kobe was buried in Corona, California) There is a scene where the bat is shown watching stocks on TV (the stock market crash). We see Stewie wearing a mask in the episode. This was also the first episode of Family Guy aired after Donald Trump was elected President on 11/9/16.
