The allium are beautiful flowering plants, closely related to the common garlic or onion of the garden. Like these vegetables, flower garlic forms the stem starting from a more or less onion according to the species. They are easy plants, some of them have spring bloom, in march-april others instead like giant garlic bloom in the summer. Early flowering species are planted in the autumn, such as daffodils and hyacinths, in a sunny place and in the ground without stagnation otherwise the onion will rotate with the cold winter humidity. Summer flowering species and varieties can be planted in march.Giant garlic blooms and related species give the best if they are in groups or mixed with other endemic plants. They should not be planted at a great depth.Even in pots, flower-lovers do not like very ventilated positions because the stems are likely to break. After flowering, wait for the foliage to dry. They can then be left in the ground or extracted and put to rest in a cool and dark place.
