Date finger (Date palm) - is the noblest representative of tropical flora and at the same time one of the most elegant and most majestic deciduous plants. It is a slender evergreen tree, native to humid areas of Africa, belongs to the family arekovoy (Arecaceae). Date palmate — a plant with a straight trunk, covered with the remains of leaf petioles. Reach a height of 15-26 meters. Leaves, feathery, raised, up to 6 meters long, are arranged in a beam on top of the trunk. Flowers are same-sex, collected in paniculate inflorescences, wind-pollinated. The fruit is a date, oblong drupe up to 8 cm long and 4 cm wide. This exotic tree grows in natural conditions on the banks of water bodies, the roots usually reach the water. Date digitate tolerant of waterlogged soils. Can withstand a decrease in temperature to -14ºC, but it will affect the shape of the plant - the tree will stop the growth in length.
