Acts of the Apostles, Acts of the Prophet Muhammad SAW from Birth to Death

Who does not know about the Prophet Muhammad? The story of the Apostle, which is full of wisdom, is not just a reading but should be used as an example in our daily lives.

Birth of the Prophet Muhammad

Rasulullah SAW was born in the Year of the Elephant which is the year where the army of elephants led by Abrah Habasyah who was wanting to knock down the Kaaba. With His greatness, Allah SWT stopped the army by sending Ababil birds to drop stones that brought the plague. This incident is found in the Al-Quran, Surat Al-Fil which means an army of elephants.

In this year, the Prophet Muhammad was born in Mecca and raised as an orphan because Abdullah, the father of the Prophet Muhammad, died before Rasulullah SAW was born. A few years after spending time with his mother, Aminah, the Prophet Muhammad was later brought up by his grandfather, Abdul Muttalib.

Unfortunately, the age of his grandfather was also only briefly. After two years of being raised by his grandfather, Abdul Muttalib died at the age of the eighth Rasul and the Prophet was taken care of by his uncle Abu Talib. Abu Talib is known as a generous person even though his life is poor or does not fulfill his daily needs. Only with these circumstances, the Prophet Muhammad could develop and grow with his uncle.

The Prophet Muhammad SAW Received First Revelation

Before becoming an Apostle, the Prophet Muhammad had obtained some special gifts from Allah such as his clean and shining face that defeated the moonlight, the flourishing of the area where Halimah (the mother who was breastfeeding the Prophet) even though it was arid and dry, and so forth. Those are signs of the greatness of God that will signal the coming of the last prophet who has the highest position later.

When the Apostle wanted to get his first revelation, the Apostle had a dream Angel Gabriel approached him. The apostle was alone in the Cave of Hira precisely above Jabal Nur. That's where the Apostle was shown that his dream was true.

Angel Gabriel came to the Apostle and the first revelation that he brought from Allah SWT,

It means: "Read in the name of your Lord who created, He created man from a clot of blood. Read it, and your Lord is the Most Gracious, Who teaches (human) through the medium of kalam. He teaches man what he does not know. "(Qur'an, 1-4)

Even though the Prophet was afraid, that is where the apostle began. That is where the last Prophet comes who will bring peace to all people.

Preaching in Secret

After getting the first revelations, the Prophet then made secret propaganda. The first followers were Khadija, Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq and Zaid bin Haritha, Umm Aiman, Ali ibn Abu Talib, and Bilal bin Rabah.

Allah Directly Orders Da'wah

After several years of performing da'wah secretly, Allah Almighty commandment in Surah al-Hijr verse 94 and ordered the Prophet to preach openly.

 فَاصْدَعْ بِمَا تُؤْمَرُ وَأَعْرِضْ عَنِ الْمُشْرِكِينَ

It means: "Then convey to you openly all that which is commanded (to you) and turn away from the polytheists."

Order of Alms in the Age of the Prophet

At the time of the Prophet Muhammad in his first year in Medina, the Prophet and his companions along with all the Muhajirin (Muslim Quraysh who migrated from Mecca to Medina) were still confronted with how to run a livelihood business in the new place. This is because, besides indeed not all of them are affluent people, except Usman bin Affan, all their possessions and wealth are also left in Mecca.

When the conditions of the Muslims have begun to prosper, precisely in the second year of Hijriyah, then the obligation of zakat is enforced. Prophet Muhammad SAW immediately sent Mu'adz ibn Jabal to Qadli in Yemen. The Apostle also gave advice to him to convey to the scribes several things, including conveying the obligation of zakat by saying,

"Convey that Allah has obliged zakat on their property, which is collected from the rich and given to the poor among them," as head of state at that time, the Apostle's statement was immediately obeyed by all Muslims without any resistance.

Treasures that were dawned on in the time of the Prophet, ie, livestock such as goats, cows, camels, then valuables such as gold and silver, then plants such as poetry (barley), wheat, dried grapes (raisins), and dates. But then, developing types in line with the nature of the development of assets or the nature of acceptance to be developed in the property itself, which is called "illat". Based on the "Illat" zakat is stipulated.

The principle of zakat taught by the Prophet Muhammad is to teach sharing and care, therefore zakat must be able to foster a sense of empathy and mutual support for fellow Muslims. In other words, zakat must be able to change people's lives, especially Muslims.

The events of Isra Mi'raj

In the eleventh year of the era of the Prophet Muhammad, a sad event occurred. This year is often called the year of sadness because his uncle Abu Talib and his wife Khadijah died that year.

After that event, Allah then sent the Angel Gabriel to accompany the Apostle in his journey from the Grand Mosque to the Aqsa Mosque called Isra, after which the Prophet traveled back from the Aqsa Mosque to the seventh heaven called Mi'raj. There, the Messenger of Allah got the wrong order 5 times that all Muslims must.

The death of the Prophet Muhammad

When Abu Bakr's best friend was not in Medina, a very sad event occurred when the Prophet Muhammad died. When Abu Bakr was notified, he immediately came to Aisha's house. He delivered the speech, "Know, whoever worships Muhammad, then surely Muhammad is dead, and whoever worships Allah, then surely Allah will always live never die."

Then he recited the word of Allah,

 إِنَّكَ مَيِّتٌ وَإِنَّهُمْ مَيِّتُونَ

It means: "Surely you will die and indeed they will die (anyway)." (Surah Az-Zumar: 30)

That is a summary of the story of the apostle that we should know, especially as Muslims. Hopefully by knowing this Rasulullah SAW we can learn again and make it a guide for our lives. (MR)

This is just a brief history of the life of the prophet Muhammad. For a complete history, you can read through the books of hadith.

Sorry if there are many errors in the translation that I use. Can correct it through the comments column. This spirit benefits us all, Amen.

Prophet Muhammad is a blessing for all beings. Starting from humans, animals, and even the planets in this universe.

The proof that the prophet Muhammad is a mercy for all of nature is:

Al Qur'an Surat Al Rum 41-42
It has been seen that damage on land and in the sea is caused by the actions of human hands. (41)
Say (Muhammad), travel on earth then see how the end of the ancients. Most of them are polytheists (Allah). "(42)

Al Qur'an Surat Al A 'raf 56 - 58

And do not do damage on earth after (created) properly. Pray with Him with fear and hope. Indeed, God's grace is very close to those who do good. (56)
He is the one who blows the wind as the bearer of good tidings, preceding the coming of His mercy (rain), so that when the wind carries a cloudy cloud, We bow down to a barren area, then We send down rain in that area. Then we grow with the rain a variety of fruits. That's how we raise the dead, hopefully, you take lessons. (57)
And the good soil, the plants flourish with God's permission, and the bad soil, the plants grow miserable. Thus We explain the signs (Our greatness) over and over to those who are grateful. (58)
