Small icon image when no larger images needed for a post

We use images in our posts to catch the eye and draw people into our content. Some of the images add value, some perhaps not. Obviously posts containing artwork and photography are all about the images :)

When we make posts without an image, it certainly seems to disappear among all the other posts with photos. I'm pretty sure that has a direct impact on the number of view the post is likely to receive.

I thought that if a post did not necessarily require an image, the person submitting the post could select to use an icon instead.

This post didn't need an image....a small icon may have been sufficient. On the other hand, perhaps the use of a minimum of one image per post is not enough of an issue.
