Tachyon Protocol is a decentralized network stack that uses new and familiar technologies to protect the Internet privacy of its users.

The Tachyon Booster UDP (TBU) uses encryption and concurrent multipath routing. Both of these tools have been used in traditional privacy and security software. Tachyon also employs a distributed hash tree (DHT) and User datagram protocol (UDP). However, Tachyon whitepaper stated that the software will be more effective in the potential of non-ethernet-based internet in the future. It also states that the more nodes that operate, the more effective the service will be. Finally, when enough nodes are operating, Tachyon aims to decentralize its VPN service, with beta set to launch in the second quarter of 202 which will be fully operational by the end of next year.
