One day, wolf and fox were on a walk when they met rabbit on his way home. They greeted each other and passed by and suddenly, wolf made a comment that he was sure rabbit would be very tasty. Fox didn't reply but he taught about it all through the walk.
After awhile, they decided to go back to their homes and fox brought up the comment wolf made earlier again. He said, "mate, I've been thinking about what you said and I'm sure that rabbit would be very delicious. Why don't we eat him?"
Wolf then told him rabbit doesn't trust them, so it will be difficult to get him all alone as there was a law banning attacking preys outside your home. Suddenly, wolf lit up and he exclaimed, I have an idea. Fox looked at him and all wolf said was, "supposing I'm dead".
"What do you mean by, supposing I'm dead ", fox asked. Wolf went on to explain that, he would lay dead in bed and fox was to call rabbit to come and pay his last respects to him, at that moment, he will pounce on rabbit and they both will make a meal out of him. That was a good plan and they set out to make it a reality.
Rabbit was home when fox came to tell him the bad news about the sudden demise of wolf. Rabbit was very saddened and decided to pay a visit to wolf's residence to express his condolence. Upon reaching the house, he realised he was the only person there and he became alert.
Rabbit decided not to enter the roam but walked around the house crying and saying, "I'm not sure he's dead, he might be in a comma. From experience, I know that a dead wolf would normally raise his dominant leg from time to time saying, you see".
Wolf wasn't so clever and as soon as he heard this, he also raised his left leg and started shouting, "you see". The rabbit didn't need any other evidence to know that, they had tried to trick him. He ran as fast as he could to his house, never to visit fox or wolf again.
