ADVANCEMENT OF MEDICINE IN NANOTECHNOLOGY

Since the mid twentieth century a new type of technology was discovered that would revolutionise the way we live and make life better and it is called nanotechnology. The thought of nanotechnology was first brought into light by Richard Feynman, but the name was first conceived by a scientist called Norio Taniguchi. So what is nanotechnology and what is its role it has to play in the field of medicine.

Nanotechnology can be said to be to manipulate matter in three states which are molecular, atomic and supramolecular scale. The goal of nanotechnology is in the production of microscale products by the use of molecules and atoms which can be described as molecular nanotechnology.

Nanotechnology can also be said to be the changing of matter with the least one dimensioned sized from 1 to 100 nanometers. And with this being said let us now turn our attention to the use of nanotechnology in the field of medicine. First there is nano medicine which is a new course in the aspect of science and technology, by working with biological molecules at a nano level it opens opportunities of research, development and application. communication of nano technology with bio molecules can be known both in cells of the human body and in extracellular bodies.

Research at a nano level into the human body is a new frontier and it brings about new knowledge, the first of its kind into the working of the human body in a grand scale, that could never be possible on a micro scale.
firstly nano-medicine is awaiting human trials but has been used already on mice. in the near future gold nano shells will be the top medication for diagnosis and also for the cure of cancer, liposomes will also be used as vaccines and a medium for transportation of drugs in the human body. Similarly, the use of nano medicine will be used in the cleansing of harmful drugs from the body, an experiment that has been successful in rats. nano-medicine can and will help doctors to monitor patients more accurately and also provide more vital information to enable better prescription of medicine.
