Dahomy Amazone, or Mino, is Fon (the main ethnic and linguistic group of West Africa in the country of Benin, and southwest Nigeria) an all-female military regiment in the Kingdom of Dahomey (now Benin), which lasted until the end of the 19th century

They were so named by Western observers and historians because of their similarities with the semi-myths of the ancient Anatolian Amazon and the Black Sea

Soldiers Mino were recruited between ahosi ("king's wives"), who often numbered hundreds. They are trained with intense physical exercise. Discipline has been emphasized

In the last period, they were armed with Winchester rifles, and knives. These units were under the command of a woman. Prisoners who fall into the hands of Amazons warriors are often beheaded

Many French soldiers became victims when fighting against them because the skills of the female soldiers in the battle were called "the skills and toughness of each of the amazon soldiers is equivalent to the elite army of men from the colonial state".

Benin is located in a location that is now the southeastern part of Nigeria. Benin is the longest forest kingdom in the West African rainforest region. Its capital, Benin City, was founded around 900 AD and reached the peak of prosperity in the 15th century

The city has a wide road with a row of large wooden houses surrounded and protected by a 40 kilometer wall. The oba (king) palace is decorated with various charter and bronze sculptures. City traders are busy selling clothing, ivory, metals (especially bronze), coconut oil, and pepper. Benin is famous for works of art, especially carvings that use pottery, ivory or animal skin

Benin prospered under the rule of Oba Eware Agung, who ruled in 1440-1473. He dominated and expanded the territory of Benin. In African countries fighting each other, prisoners are usually slaves, but Benin avoids such habits. So, when the Portuguese began buying slaves from western Africa in the 16th century, Benin did not participate in the slave trade. This situation protected Benin from European colonization until 1897
