African Writers' Bureau embarks on Poetry Course

Writing is not always about earning money. People write for various reasons. One prominent reason for writing is self-actualisation. People feel they accomplish something, which others can appreciate.

If someone attempts something for a long time and fails, one is bound to be demotivated. Once someone succumbs to demotivation success is thwarted.

One of the forms of writing many new people start with is poetry. People who have a love for writing show an appreciation of poetry at a very tender age. After being successful in poetry one can then try other genres of writing.

That is the route I took. My first four to five years in writing were based on poetry. I attended a number of courses in order to hone my skills. When my first poetry books were published, then I started on short stories and novels.

My success in short stories, poetry and novels motivated me to try other genres such as writing for theatre.

As years went by I discovered that writing for the internet is one of the best options. Thus I started blogging.

In my interaction with most budding writers, I realised that most of them are so much interested in poetry. That is the reason why I have taken my time to promote the African Writers' Bureau Poetry Writing Course.

Since it is a new project the conditions are very good. For example, it is allowing free poetry course for the first two people to enroll from every African country.

The first enrollees stand a chance to become African Writers' Bureau representatives, giving them a chance to earn income.
