Cool Cemetery Sculpture: Newmarket, Suffolk England

A few years ago when I was in the UK, we went to visit my wife's grandmother's grave in the Newmarket Cemetery. I was struck by how elaborate some of the old grave sculpture was. I thought I'd post a few of them here for the enjoyment of the Golos community.

Of course angels are a very popular theme. This little mini one was the first I came across:

There were a lot of these larger ones dotted around the cemetery:

I particularly liked this angel from this angle. There is something ominous yet epic about it:

There were also many crosses with interesting designs on them:

This last one was probably my favorite. There was something about her, almost lifelike yet frozen in time.
