4 Steps change any Failure in to Success
Sometimes things go OK or may be better than that, But sometimes they don't, so what after that?
We blame?
Feel bad?
Cry?
Vent out?
You make a mistake, have a setback or you simply fail. It’s no fun. But you can’t avoid it either unless you avoid doing anything at all.
But how many people accept it??
Practically No one!! We find reasons, I failed in an exam because the questions were tough!!
So what’s needed is a smart and self-kind way to handle such situations instead of letting them lead to vicious self-beatings and to them dragging you down into negativity for the day or month.
Today in my blog we will discuss steps to handle failure.
Face It.
Whenever we fail we are bound to get hurt. Sometimes more and sometimes a little less.
That is OK. It is OK to feel bad rather trying to divert your mind away from situations or by trying ro push the responsibility onto the rest of the world. Deep down you would know that this one is on you fully or partially.
And, don't try to paint that over with a smile!!
Accept it.
Try to accept it. Try to let it in and hurt for a while instead of trying to reject it all. Face it completely with hundred percent of you heart and mind!! And analyse the cause of failure to the depth of it, and being unbiased about it like a scientist, so that you witness all sides of the cause.
Even Albert Einstein once said: Failure is success is progress
Don't put yourself in the failure while analysing the root cause. Detach it from yourself, only then you will be able to analyse it.
Learn from it.
Most important step is to learn from the mistake or cause of failure because when you try appearing the situation, you have evolved out of it.
Learning the mistake will let you understand the right purpose. Purpose when I say, should not be to achieve something.
Instead what efforts am I gonna make to achieve the set goal.
I have found that this is the most helpful way to learn from it and find the exact purpose of achieving something is to ask your self questions like:
- What is the one thing I can learn from this?
- How can I improve my self to avoid making the same mistake again?
- What can I do better next time to achieve the goal?
- What is the one thing I can do differently attempting the same thing next time?
Spend time with these questions and be honest with yourself as the only person answering will be YOU.
Some of the answers may be immediate while some of them might take an hour, a day or maybe a week, understand there is no rush!!
Important is to start thinking about the situation from this perspective and be constructive about things, getting stuck in denial or negativity instead.
Grow out of it.
Once you analyse and figure out ways to improve yourself, you grow.
Try working on the mistakes, just similar to the versions that we have these days for applications.
Whenever there is a bug in the application the providing company fixes it and releases the new version. Similarly grow yourself as a person, understanding the power of learning through a mistake.
We often get motivated by hearing success stories of people. But never really look for the ugly setbacks beautifully made-up with milestones!!
Many successful people have been through failures
Michael Jordan: I have missed more than 9000 shots in my career, lost 300 games, 26 times have been trusted to take the winning shot and missed. I have failer over and over in my life. And that's why I succeed.
Jack Ma: I have failed over 50 Interviews. I appeared with 8 other Chinese friends of mine for an interview in KFC 8 of them got selected and I was rejected. I was not selected because I had to do it on my own. It is good to fail and not give up, because only then you have a chance.
