Ernesto Rafael Guevara de la Serna was born on June 14, 1928 in Rosario, Argentina. More known under the name of Che Guevara or Che, it is a revolutionary Marxist and politician of Latin America, leader of the Cuban internationalist guerilla.

As a young medical student, Guevara travels across Latin America, and discovers the poverty in which many people live. His observations lead him to the conclusion that socio-economic inequalities can only be destroyed by revolution. He then decided to intensify his study of Marxism and travel to Guatemala to learn about the reforms undertaken by President Jacobo Arbenz Guzmán, overthrown a few months later by a coup d'etat.

Shortly after, Guevara joined the movement of July 26, a revolutionary group led by Fidel Castro. After more than two years of guerrilla warfare during which Guevara became commander, the group took power in Cuba in 1959 by overthrowing the dictator Fulgencio Batista.

In the months that follow, Guevara is appointed prosecutor of a revolutionary court that executes more than a hundred police and military of the previous regime. He then creates camps for "work and re-education". He later occupied several important positions in the Cuban government from which the Democrats were removed.

He succeeded in influencing Cuba's transition to a socialist economy politically integrated into the communist bloc but failed in the industrialization of the country as a minister.

In 1965, after denouncing the exploitation of the Third World by the two blocs of the Cold War, he disappeared from politics and left Cuba with the intention of extending the revolution. First in Congo, without success, then in Bolivia where he is captured and summarily executed by the Bolivian army.
