2008 Olympics Gymnastics Champion Nastia Liukin Tribute
Nastia Liukin video montage, Olympic gymnast, winner of the Beijing 2008 Olympics all around artistic gymnastics competition.
Nastia's dad & coach, Valeri Liukin is a 1988 Olympics gold winner and her mum is the 1987 world clubs rhythmic gymnastics champion, Anna Kotchneva. With such parents, Nastia (short for Anastasia) was bound to be a gymnastics champion. She started gymnastics at the age of 3 and by 2003 she was one of the strongest junior gymnasts in the US.
She competed as a senior for the first time in 2006 and she proved a strong all around competitor, her best events being uneven bars and balance beam. She won the all around competition at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games against her friend and rival Shawn Johnson. Her routines at the 2008 Olympics were as close to perfection as she ever had performed them.
Throughout her career, she used classical music or classical style tango-gypsy variations, which you can hear on this video.
This video has been created for educational purposes, to show skills in artistic gymnastics and to teach people about all the elements of this sport.
