Bokeh Awesome Photo Making Tips

IMG_2985.jpg

Learning Photography has reviewed basically what bokeh photos are and how to produce them. Just to repeat briefly, bokeh is essentially a measure of blur quality that sets objects apart from the background. Our eyes are happy to see photos with backgorund that blurred softly, creamy and beautiful. One of the questions most often sent readers is, why my bokeh still not good anyway? What is wrong?
There are six main factors that greatly affect the quality of our bokeh photo, fill the sixth then you will get bokeh with thumb quality.

  1. Use a large aperture.
Bokeh comes from the lens instead of the camera. Therefore, the most important thing to do is setting your lens aperture at a large aperture (the largest allowed shooting situation - maximum aperture). You can do this using Aperture Priority mode and change f into the smallest value (turn the aperture ring counterclockwise). Re-read about aperture & depth of field.
In this setting we practically lower the depth of field to shallow / shallow.

  2. Reduce the distance between the camera and the photo object.
The closer we stand from the object of the photo, the more blur his background. The closer the photo object, the lens focus is also closer and the depth of field will further narrow. Try to do this: thrust your index finger near the glass that is about 50 cm in front of you, focus your eyes on the index finger, now move the index finger close to your eyes. The closer the index finger with the eyes, the glass behind it will blur is not it?

  3. Keep the distance between the object and its background.
When you shoot a friend and want to produce a good bokeh, then the farther friend from the background behind him, the better bokeh you get. Look at the photo below, the closest leaf of the camera still looks sharp. But the further away from the camera, the more blurry. While the leaves with green color behind there look very blurred.

  4. Use the longest focal length.
When you use the zoom lens, use the longest focal length to further separate the main object from the background. For example: when you use 70-200 mm lethal lens, set the focal length at 200mm to produce a good bokeh. Re-read about focal length
If you store a 300mm lens, 18-200mm lens, 14-24mm lens, choose the longest lens (300mm) if you aim to produce a deadly bokeh photo.

  5. Choose the lens with the best optical quality that you can buy.
Bokeh quality is also strongly influenced by the optical quality of the lens we use. Let's say you have two lenses with the same maximum focal length, eg 18-20mm / f5.6 lens and 70-200mm / f2.8 lens, since the optical quality of the 70-200mm lens (usually) is far superior to the 18-200mm lens ( so the price is also many times more expensive). Then use the 70-200mm lens earlier, and as much as possible wear in the f / 2.8 aperture. Make sure you read the review before you buy the lens.

  6. Use prime lens
Because the larger the aperture the better the bokehnya, if you have prime lens, wear it. Prime lens or prime lens or fixed lens, is a lens that has a single focal length aka lenses that can not be zoomed. Prime lenses usually produce very good bokeh photos because they have very large aperture openings, typical of prme lenses are 50mm f / 1.4, 85mm f / 1.4 or cheap variants 50mm f / 1.8 and 85mm f / 1.8. Learn a lot of photography about the prime lens, here and here.

Well survived to produce images with a terrible bokeh.
