Loyalty programs are one of the most useful marketing strategies despite this the market is faced with challenges that include a very high fragmented loyalty programs that are only useful to one business, this has rendered the holder of the tokens not to use them because the value of the loyalty points the holder has less value based on the redemption criteria and this will most likely cause the user not to redeem his points. 

I hold a loyalty card from my favorite retail store, this card allows me to redeem my points after they have reached a redeemable point and I can only redeem them on the store, even with this the loyalty points can only be redeemed for products I don’t consider of value to me since I already hold them – to me this is a sorry state and that’s why I don’t redeem my points despite holding them.

Loyalty programs also face a challenge when it comes to the security of the system, when the system is centralized, it is easily attacked and misused by individuals who take advantage of the centralized storage of the records and can easily alter or forge the records for their own benefits.
