Body Language...Learn how to read the signs!!
In my life in general, I am very observant. I always notice everything around me! movements, reactions, the countenance and generally the attitude of my interlocutor. Because I notice everyone around me, I am also a good mime.I can very well imitate most people I know and my friends always ask me to imitate someone in order to laugh.
From my observation in humans, I can understand many things and draw a lot of information. But what helps me make quicker conclusions is the body language.
There are a lot of people who can read the language of their interlocutor's body without having done any kind of exercise. Even if you do not belong to this category ... do not be disappointed. It is not that hard to recognize the signals that sends you the human you observe.
The signs you have to pay attention to!
There are several points that you should pay attention on body language. Hands, head, distance, glance and legs. So let me analyze you each point.
HANDS
Crossed hands usually shows defensive stance. Maybe your interlocutor does not feel so comfortable with you or has not trusted you yet. On the other hand if your interlocutor puts his hands behind his neck then he shows you that he is comfortable with you, relaxed and enjoy the conversation.
Hands in the waist are a sign of impatience or nervousness but if your interlocutor, has his hands in a position where he actually shows his palms, This is a sign of friendliness to you.
HEAD
The leaning head is a sign of sympathy or even flirting.
On the other hand, lowering your head may indicate that your interlocutor wants to hide something or does not feel comfortable while you are speaking.
Finally, if the head of your interlocutor is for a long time turned to the opposite of you, you can conclude that he does not have anything interest about what you say or just wants to stop the conversation.
PERSONAL SPACE (DISTANCE)
Generally, distance translates into comfort. The more distance one keeps from you, the less comfortable feels with you.
EYES
If the time you talk to someone that is looking for long elsewhere, this may indicate anxiety or even that he wants to hide something.
If your interlocutor looks downwards, then he may not feel comfortable, or he is ashamed of something.
If your interlocutor looks at you in the eyes while you are talking, this is a sign of watching you. But if he looks at you with relatively closed eyes, he may be interested in you.
LEGS
If while you are sitting, you notice that your interlocutor has his legs completely closed and it seems that he do it deliberately, this shows a lack of comfort. Crossed legs may show a defensive stance, but if your interlocutor's feet are in the same direction as yours, You can conclude that he feels comfortable with you.
I want to emphasize that it is 100% wrong to make a conclusion for your interlocutor only by one sign. Do not forget that this may have happened accidentally. For example, the crossing of the hands indicates a negative attitude, but sometimes it can be completely random. (Your interlocutor may get used to crucifying his hands or just feels cold)
Note that in order to draw conclusions about the body language you should have at least 4 observations signs.
Conclusion
I think you got a good idea about body language and its signs. Certainly there are many other things we can discuss like body language related to flirt. I will try to write a lot more, in future posts. Thanks for stepping by!!! 🙂
