Norwegian food

Food has always been a big part of me since i was really smal, and started at a early age to spend time in the kitchen. I used to look down the pots, and asked a lot of questions. I have seen a lot of posts on Steemit about food, so I wanted to make a post about Norwegian food. People her have also told me to write more about Norway.

Rakfisk
First up is the Rakfisk, and is basically rotten fish. Its made of trout or salmon, sometimes other types of fish. The fish is salted and put on barrels, to let it fermented up to a year. some add a little bit of suger to speed up the prosess. Maybe the smelliest fish you can find. its eaten on flatbread or on a lefse, with potatoes, sour cream, onions, and dill. Its served raw as it is, with some aquavit.

Lutefisk
Lutefisk is made from dried fish, thats put in water, leached, and then watered out. the prosess makes the fish swell to over its original size. This prosess makes the fish loose over 50 prosent of the proteins, that gives it the flavor. the prosess takes about two weeks. Most people eat this in the Christmas times, and its served with potatoes, bacon and aquavit.

Smalahove
Smalahove is scorched, smoked, or cooked heads from lamb or sheep. Its usually eaten before Christmas, Its said that the most tender meat comes from the head. Its served with potatoes, rutabaga and aquavit.

pinnekjøtt
Pinnekjøtt is ribbes from sheep or goat thats salted and dried, sometimes smoked, and hanged. Its mostly eaten at by Christmas time. The Meat is placed in a pot, on needles and steamed for about 3,5 houres. Its served with potatoes, rutabaga cram, and aquivitt.

pizza Grandiosa
Pizza grandiosa is a frozen pizza you can get in the store. Its not really anything spesial, unless you are Norwegian. Since it was lauch in the 1980, it has become a something big. each year 28 million is produces for a population of 5 million inhabitants.
